What is RackStitch?

RackStitch is software for documenting server rooms (a DCIM application): rack elevations with every port, cable tracing through patch panels, power and cooling, inventory, change sets with an audit log and QR labels. It is made by Kynologic Sp. z o.o. in Poland.

How much does RackStitch cost?

One price per organization, with all modules included. RackStitch Cloud costs USD 100 for the first year as a launch offer, then USD 1,000 per year or USD 100 per month. RackStitch Self-hosted costs USD 200 for the first year, then USD 2,000 per year. Prices are net; VAT is added according to your country.

Do you charge per rack or per user?

No. The price is per organization (one client), not per rack, device or user, and there are no add-on modules to unlock.

Can I try it before buying?

Yes. The live demo is open to everyone and uses sample data that is restored every 24 hours. If you would like to see your own server room in RackStitch, write to us.

What is the difference between Cloud and Self-hosted?

It is the same application with the same modules. RackStitch Cloud is hosted and updated by us in the EU. RackStitch Self-hosted runs in your own network, also without internet access, uses an offline license file and is updated with packages you install yourself. More on the self-hosted and EU cloud page.

Where is our data stored?

In RackStitch Cloud, on infrastructure in the European Union, with backups in the EU, operated by Kynologic Sp. z o.o. (Poland). In RackStitch Self-hosted, on your own server; the application does not need to send anything outside your network.

What do we need to run the self-hosted edition?

A Debian 13 server or virtual machine, or a Proxmox VE host for the ready virtual appliance. Installation works offline from a single package. A setup wizard guides you through network, certificate, license, the owner account, email and backups.

Can we import our existing spreadsheets?

Yes. Devices, assets and spare parts can be imported from Excel (XLSX) or CSV with column mapping and a preview that shows valid, invalid and duplicate rows; nothing is saved until you confirm, and devices placed in racks arrive as planned work in a change set. Device models can be imported as JSON. For racks, ports and connections we help map your existing spreadsheet when you start.

Can we export our data?

Yes. The cable list and the inventory can be exported to CSV, and labels are produced as PDF. In the self-hosted edition, data stays viewable and exportable even after a license expires.

Does RackStitch read live data from PDUs and sensors?

Not yet. Today you document the design: allocated power, nameplate draw, feeds and cooling capacity, and RackStitch calculates headroom and failure scenarios from it. Live PDU and temperature readings are on the roadmap.

Which label printers are supported?

Labels come out as PDF files, so any printer works: A4 sheets (3×8 labels of 70×37 mm or 2×7 of 99×38 mm), 12 mm or 24 mm tape, or 50×25 mm roll labels. Tell us your label stock and we will match the format.

Does a technician need an account to scan a QR code?

Yes. The QR code only holds a short link; the details appear after signing in, so your layout is never public.

We maintain server rooms for several clients. Does that work?

Yes, that is what RackStitch was built for: one organization per client, with separate data and roles, and a quick switch between them with one login.

Who can change the documentation?

There are four roles per organization. Viewers read, trace and print labels. Editors plan changes in change sets. Administrators apply change sets and manage the model library, the room layout and users. Owners also manage ownership. Administrators and owners must use two-factor authentication.

What languages does the app support?

The application is available in English and Polish, and each user chooses their own language; labels and mobile pages follow it. Adding a language does not require changes to the application, so ask if you need another one.

Does RackStitch make us NIS2 compliant?

No software does that by itself. RackStitch helps you keep the asset inventory, change history and physical infrastructure records expected under NIS2 and Poland's KSC act. It is not a certification.
